A study carried out by Terre des hommes in Belgium, France, Spain and Switzerland on the disappearance of unaccompanied foreign minors placed in institutions. The study has been conducted in 2008 and 2009. It's main value is that it deals with an issue which receives too little attention and aims to make visible children who had become invisible. The report of the study is based on comparison of the situation in four European countries receiving migrant children, and formulates a series of universal recommendations based on these observations.
4th International Conference Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online
Polish (Nobody's Children Foundation and NASK) and German (klicksafe.de) Safer Internet Centers are pleased to invite you to attend the 4th International Conference "Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online", which will take place at the Novotel Airport Hotel in Warsaw, on 28th - 29th September 2010.
The Warsaw conference will bring together approx. 500 representatives from the education sector, NGOs, law enforcement, government and industry. In June 2010 the Nobody's Children Foundation conducted training titled "Child - witness with special needs. Practice of friendly interviewing of child witnesses." Two-day training was addressed to interdisciplinary teams of judges, prosecutors and psychologists participating in interviewing minors and cooperating under a particular local court. The aim of the training was to enhance participants knowledge regarding child victims of crime and methods of interviewing minor witnesses, with particular reference to interviewing under art. 185 a and b of Code of Criminal Procedure (185a refers to minors below 15 - victims of sexual violence or family violence and 185 b refers to minors below 15 who witnessed sexual violence or other crime with a use of violence), assisting child and the family in the course of intervention, as well as establishing a connection with a child who suffered from traumatic experience.
Expert seminar in Copenhagen – information management to prevent child trafficking
On 15th-16th June 2010 25 experts from the Baltic Sea Region met to discuss situation of children in the asylum system and children in migration in relation to the risk trafficking. The seminar was organised by Save the Children Denmark in cooperation with the EGCC, Caritas Lithuania and Tartu Child Support Centre. The participants met to discuss information channels and structures established among various groups of professionals and how can a better information management contribute to more comprehensive and adequate protection systems for children at risk of trafficking.
