LatviaExpert seminar in Copenhagen – information management to prevent child trafficking
On 15th-16th June 2010 25 experts from the Baltic Sea Region met to discuss situation of children in the asylum system and children in migration in relation to the risk trafficking. The seminar was organised by Save the Children Denmark in cooperation with the EGCC, Caritas Lithuania and Tartu Child Support Centre. The participants met to discuss information channels and structures established among various groups of professionals and how can a better information management contribute to more comprehensive and adequate protection systems for children at risk of trafficking.
Problem of Child Abuse in Central and Eastern Europe in 2005 - 2009
The report Problem of Child Abuse: Attitudes and Experiences in Seven Countries of Central and Eastern Europe presents selected findings from a comparative research programme carried out in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Ukraine in 2009 and compares it with results from an analogous research from 2005 within the Childhood without Abuse - Toward a Better Child Protection System in Eastern Europe project. The project, coordinated by the Nobody's Children Foundation and financed by the OAK Foundation, was carried out in 2005 - 2009.
