The magic book

Rosa Association from the Czech Republic is carrying a project aiming to support children - victims of domestic violence. Due to the violence that occurred or the parents' divorce a child often has to give statement in front of the judge or the police. Recently Rosa Association has issued "The magic book" - a tool created to help the children to adopt to this new and difficult situation and to enable them to express emotions.

The website is a part of Czech national campaign against domestic and interpersonal violence. It's aim is to inform the society and its most vulnerable members about the problem and prevent it. The website is divided to four parts dedicated to different target groups: women, children, teenagers and other people who are witnesses of violence. In a friendly and easy way the children can learn from the website what is violence, how to react when faced by it and where to report it.

Czech Republic: Don’t turn a blind eye to child abuse!

Our Child Foundation from Czech Republic is running "Red Card for Child Abuse" campaign as part of its efforts to protect children. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness among the general public regarding the various forms of psychological and physical abuse children face in the Czech Republic, including the commercial exploitation of children, child pornography, prostitution, and child trafficking. The overall aim of the campaign is to reduce the number of children suffering from these forms of abuse in the country. Additionally the goal is to inform the public about the statutory obligation to notify authorities about the cases of child abuse.

Czech Republic: Conference on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings

Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic is organizing a conference under the title: "Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings: reducing prostitution and sexual exploitation". The conference will be held on 3rd June 2009 in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
