„I love, don't beat" is a slogan of an antiviolence social campaign carried out during September and October in Poland. The aim of the campaign was to prevent family violence and change social attitudes toward the problem. It was targeted at those experiencing family violence, perpetrators of violence, as well as for representatives of institutions responsible for the prevention of violence in the family.
In October Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children and Save the Children Sweden published a Global Report 2008: Ending legalized violence against children.
WHO and Liverpool John Moores University's Centre for Public Health have launched a new website highlighting what works to prevent violence. Addressed to policy-makers and violence prevention researchers, practitioners and advocates, the website is a useful tool providing data-base of information on effective violence prevention programmes.
On 23rd November a telethon in support of children victims of sexual abuse "Have a Peaceful Dream" has been broadcasted on the first Macedonian National TV Channel. The event was initiated by the Centre for Institutional Development and the First Children's Embassy in the World - Megjashi.
