Local supervision for foster parents in Torun, Poland

In April 2009 in Torun the Nobody's Children Foundation organized supervision for foster families "Professional assistance to abuse child placed in alternative care". The supervision was run by the Nobody's Children Foundation's expert Jolanta Zmarzlik. Foster parents participating in it discussed their difficulties in providing care to children who suffered abuse and how to react appropriately in cases when the abused is revealed.

Research on the problem of child abuse in Eastern Europe

Studies parallel to the studies from 2005 were conducted this year in the frame of the Childhood without Abuse Project. The aim of the studies was to assess changes in the level of public's and professionals' awareness on the topic of child abuse that took place during the time of the project implementation. Studies were conducted in all seven countries participating in the project: Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine.

Analysis of the situation of children in institutions

Year 2009 of the implementation of Childhood without Abuse Project in Poland, Latvia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldavia and Ukraine was devoted to the issue of abuse of children in different types of institutions. As a base for planning this year's activities and analyzing possible solutions to the problem, partner organizations prepared short documents on the situation of children in institution in their country.

Polish Charter of Rights of the Child-Victim/Witness

The Charter was prepared by the Nobody's Children Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and Coalition for Child-Friendly Interviewing.

At the beginning of 2009 the Nobody's Children Foundation started its initiative aimed at creating a document which in a complex manner would deal with the rights of children participating in criminal proceedings. The document was to be addressed to professionals who in their everyday work meet children-victims/witnesses of crime.
