European Master in Childrens Rights

The Free University in Berlin is offering a new interdisciplinary Master Programme “European Master in Children’s Rights” starting in October 2007. The programme is directed to everyone who wants to stand up for the interests of children e.g. in youth welfare services, schools, the media, legal services, health care or development cooperation.

I am going to court - cover, Latvia

The activity book for children to help them in getting ready for witnessing in court. It is dedicated for younger children (5-12 years old) and should be filled in by a child under the supervision of a professional or a parent or a caregiver. By short and easy description it helps to understand the institution of court justice and the role and obligations of a little witness. The book was published in Poland in 2002.

It was the 4th meeting of National Contact Points that took place in Warsaw from 8th to 9th of May 2007. It was organized by the Council of the Baltic Sea States and was held on the premises of Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for continuation of the discussion on issues such as unaccompanied and trafficked children in the Baltic Sea region, or mapping cases of trafficking in children.

In March 2007 a two-day conference "Focus on Children in Migration - From a European Research and Method Perspective" was held in Warsaw. The conference, as well as the joint UNHCR - NGO Network meeting, was organized by Save the Children Sweden, Separated Children in Europe Network and the European Network of Masters in Children's Rights.

No.16/2006 of the periodical "Abused Child. Theory, Research and Practice", published by Nobody's Children Foundation within the framework of the project "Childhood without Abuse in Eastern Europe" is focused on the topic of sexual behaviour problems in children, criterion of assessing them and treatment. According to Foundation's experiences and opinions heart form the experts there is still luck of knowledge about normative sexual behaviours in children.

Game

Board game “Coming Home” was invented and published by Lithuanian non-profit organization Secure Child Center (Saugaus Vaiko Centras) in 2001. The copy rights for printing 100 pieces of the game in the languages of the seven countries participating in the project were given to Nobody’s Children Foundation. The game was translated and adapted by coordinators by respective local coordinators of the project.

10 Steps, Latvia

The brochure provides 10 tips for parents helping them in building the positive and encouraging models of discipline for their children. Some parents are afraid that without spanking or other kinds of corporal punishment they won't mange to control children's behaviour. The brochure describes in short and easy words the positive rules which can change family life for better and happier both for parents and for children.
