The BASPCAN Congress in Belfast, 15-18th April 2012

The 8th BASPCAN Congress "Keeping Children Safe in an Uncertain World: Learning from Evidence and Practice" is taking place in Belfast in April 2012, and submissions of abstracts are now being invited. BASPCAN is a multi-disciplinary association for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and academics with an interest in children's welfare and protection from all forms of violence, abuse or neglect.

Handbook to support faith-based approaches to ending corporal punishment

This new handbook published jointly by the Churches' Network for Non-violence, the Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children and Save the Children Sweden,aims to help those working with and within religious communities to harness faith-based support for reform in their efforts to end corporal punishment of children.

The conference on Prevention of young child abuse in Poland

The 4th national conference „Prevention of young child abuse" took place in Warsaw, 17th June 2011. The conference was organized by the Nobody's Children Foundation. During the conference the Alina Margolis-Edelman Award for outstanding work in the field of protecting children against abuse.

Publication on child abuse prevention in Poland

A new volume of the NCF quarterly "Abused Child. Theory, Research and Practice" devoted to the topic "Prevention of child abuse" has been published in the end of May. The volume contains articles on preventive programmes about child trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and cyberbullying.
