The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, Marta Santos Pais has launched a new website, which includes its own newsletter, region-specific information, and other useful resources, including a Children’s Corner offering a series of child-friendly materials.

Site visit at the Association of Psychologists Tighina from Causeni in Moldova

During the coordinators meeting in February 2011 in Chisinau, Moldova, the project coordinators have visited the Association of Psychologists Tighina from Causeni, which manages two centers: The Regional Pro-Familia Maternal Centre and The Regional Assistance and Protection Center for Young Women.

Local training in Poland

On 20.02 and 1.03 the training with the international expert took place in Warsaw. The expert was Anna Norlen, psychologist and psychiatrist form Sweden. The topic of the supervision were the methods of work with children, who experienced abuse. In the supervision participated 30 professionals- 1 participant from Ukraine (Child Well-Being Fund) and 2 from Lithuania (Children Support Center).

Local supervision in Latvia

On April 8th and 9th 2011 Dardedze held the local supervision in the frame of the "Childhood without abuse" project for 30 participants from Child Care Institutions (directors, social workers and care workers). The supervision was led by Laila Balode who did the research on the topic of Resilience and during the supervision introduced the participants with the results of her research and discussed the possibilities of introducing Resilience approach in Child Care Institutions in Latvia.

The resource centre in Bulgarian language http://www.detetosvidetel.org has been developed in the frame of the “Chidlhood without abuse” project by SAPI. The website is devoted to the issue of child-friendly interviewing.

The resource centre in the ukrainian language http://www.childfund.org.ua/irc has been developed in the frame of the "Chidlhood without abuse" project by Child-Well Being Fund. It contains informational, educational, methodical and other resources for specialists, parents and for all who care about safe childhood.


Resource center in lithuanian language

The resource centre in lithuanian language http://www.vaikystebesmurto.lt/ has been developed in the frame of the “Chidlhood without abuse” project by Children Support Center. The web-page covers such themes: child abuse, statistics on child abuse, legal aspects, campaigns, where to get help, other resources. There are three segments of the page: “When you are a witness”, “When your child is a witness” and “When you implement forensic interviews”. Part for children “When you are a witness” has a special design and structure. There is form for reporting child abuse case.

The resource centre in the latvian language www.bernskacietusais.lv has been developed in the frame of the "Chidlhood without abuse" project by Center Against Abuse "Dardedze". It contains materials to such topics as: child abuse, risk factors, signs and symptoms of child abuse, interviewing children-victims of crime, psychological assessment and diagnostic work in cases of child abuse, agencies, organizations and institutions involved in child protection network, services to abused children - hotline, legal counseling, services of social/psychological assistance and rehabilitations, training programs for professionals involved in working with abused children
