Our Children Foundation

Our Child Foundation (Nadace Naše dítě) was established as a non-profit organization on 1 October 1993 with the aim of helping children who find themselves in a crisis or difficult life situations. In 2004, the foundation expanded its activities to include help for abused, exploited and disabled children as well as those who are at risk or have been abandoned. The Foundation is one of the leading non-governmental organization in the field of child protection in Czech Republic.

Main activities:

• Safer Internet Hotline - a project established with European Union for elimination of illegal and/or harmful content to young people on the internet.
• Direct financial support to non-governmental organizations and individual children and families.
• Public awareness campaigns against the mistreatment of children (Red Noses, Stop Violence against Children, Red Card for Child Abuse).
• Cooperation with children's homes.
  

The foundation is also active in the field of children's rights and is striving to create an effective system for child protection in the Czech Republic. It cooperates with national and international organizations active in the area of the protection of children and children's rights, like European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children and EURONET.

Each year the Our Child Foundation presents the Golden Heart award, a prize dedicated to child psychologist Zdeněk Matějček, to the country‘s top guardian of children.
