"Respect works out!" is a European project coordinated by the German organisation Association for a New Education (ANE) in partnership with NSPCC in the UK and the Nobody's Children Foundation in Poland, financed by the EU in the frame of Daphne programme. Its goal is to strengthen the right of the child to a non-violent upbringing, and to contribute to creating an environment for children in which parents, experts and the general public fully reject the use of violence against children.
The project aims to advance the EU-wide implementation of a legal ban and to promote non-violent parenting across Europe.
In the project, the family is seen as a team that takes diverging interests serious and negotiates solutions that are suitable for all team members. Benefits of non-violent parenting are highlighted.
Project components:
- Raising awareness of the right of the child to a non-violent upbringing and of positive parenting skills. A number of events will be organized to allow meetings, discussions and best practices exchanges.
- Internet Portal www.respectworks.eu
- Letter For Parents. A publication developed by the German project partner ANE, helps parents to understand children's behaviour better and provides useful advice on how to avoid situations getting out of control. It has been translated and adapted in Poland and the UK.
All three languages versions can be downloaded from the project website.
