Help Association Iskierka

The Help Association „Iskierka" is a public benefit organization which runs day care centres, subsidized by the Municipality of Wrocław. The association runs the Child Care and Education Centre as well as the Children and Youth Community Centre "Nowy Dwór" and the Community Centre at the 99th Primary School.
The Child Care and Education Centre is a specialized prevention-oriented facility dedicated to the day care and support. It is a transitionalplace between a family home and a complete child and youth care institution. It helps children and families facing a difficult life situation, it supports families in fulfilling its basic care and education functions, it provides complex and systematic help to a family and children with behavioural and educational difficulties, who are exposed to depravity, crime and addictions. The facility cooperates also with its clients' schools, social welfare centres and other institutions and organisations, which support families in solving their problems.
The Child Care and Education Centres differ from other facilities in this respect, that they provide comprehensive support to the whole family of a client. The family is surrounded by the interest, care and support of The Child Care and Education Centre staff. It means that the systematic work with a client includes such areas as: progress in learning, contacts with peers and school as well as the family and life situation.
The Child Care and Education Centres operate every week day all year round. They organize also summer and winter rest (summer and winter holidays), which is an excellent complement to the all year long pedagogical and therapeutic support to a client and its family.
Our child care and education work relies on providing children the right to:

• stable educational environment
• being treated with respect and dignity
• education, development of skills and interests, play and rest
• individuality
We also organize financial help and alimentary aid for our clients' families in cooperation with the Food Bank in Wrocław and other donors.

• development of children's interests
• summer and winter rest
• supplementary alimentation and financial help
• therapy and life counselling for parents
According to the client's needs different forms of individual as well as group aid are offered.
The Help Association "Iskierka" establishes day care prevention-oriented facilities, thus besides all of these forms of care, education and therapy, it is hoped that a child can remain in its natural family. Therefore, one of the main tasks is to cooperate with a client's family in order to encourage it to take proper care of children.
