8th International Conference Helping Children-Victims of Crime in Poland

8th International Conference „Helping Children-Victims of Crime" is organized by Nobody's Children Foundation, the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Social Policy of Warsaw's City Hall. It is also one of the events accompanying Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union.
The conference will take place on 24th-25th October 2011 in Warsaw.

Conference sessions will revolve around helping children exposed to violence and abuse, as well as protecting the rights of children involved in legal proceedings. Domestic and international experts will speak about model solutions for preventing crimes against children; they will also discuss projects and initiatives offering practical assistance to children-victims of crime and their families.
Conference proceedings will take the form of plenary sessions, expert's lectures, discussion panels, paper presentations and workshops.

Invited speakers include international experts - such as Prof. Danya Glayser, Prof. Michael Lamb, Prof. Mark Chaffin, and domestic ones - among them Prof. Józef Gierowski, Prof. Maria Kolankiewicz, Prof. Anna Brzezińska, Prof. Mariusz Jędrzejko and Prof. Jerzy Mellibruda.

The conference will be attended by 2 000 professionals from Poland and abroad working with children and their families, including: judges, public prosecutors, physicians, social workers, curators, police officers, nurses and midwives, teachers, NGO employees, representatives of ministries and local government, as well as academics and researchers.
Professionals willing to participate in the conference must go through a recruitment process, beginning with a registration via an online form.
