Tallin Children Support Centre (Tallina Laste Tugikeskus) is non-governemental non-profit organization and our mission is prevent child abuse and neglect in Estonia, provide professional services for abused and street children and also for their family members. Our Centre established in 1998 by Open Estonia Foundation (Soros Foundation).
The Centre is planned for:
• Children and youngsters and for their parents;
• Grown-ups who are in contact with children;
• Professionals working with children;
• Volunteers who want to help children;
The main directions of Tallinn Children Support Centre are:
• Psychosocial counseling and therapy for abused children and their families. All consultations and visits are confidential and free of charge.
• Education of professionals encountering child abuse - chool personnel, psychological, medical and social service professionals, law enforcement etc.
• Day Care Centre service with the method of support person - for children and youngsters who are clients of comission of juvenile offenders.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration of professionals in the areas of education, medicine, psychology, social work, law enforcement and judicial reform.
• Development of the system of volunteers to help children from risk families.
• Increase public awareness in the field of child abuse and street children issues through media.
• Complete the library about child abuse
