Subregional training in Sofia

On the 5th and 6th of December Partners Bulgaria Foundation conducted in Sofia a subregional training on the topic of Working with Children at Risk and Children Victims of Abuse. The trainers were Margarita Daskalova from the consulting and training organization Variant B and John Beckett, a British expert and consultant.
There were 16 participants from Macedonia and Bulgaria, representatives from both NGO's and state institutions working with abused children and children at risk of abuse. The participants raised some problems and difficulties concerning their work with abused children, especially in the treatment area and also the issue of the lack of support network for both the children and professionals working with them. One of the trainers - John Beckett - demonstrated practical ways of working with children with disabilities (who are at high risk of abuse), which the participants evaluated as being very helpful for their daily work.
