Local supervisions in Bulgaria

Police officers, social workers and representatives of the Commission for combating the antisocial actions of juveniles took part in two local supervisions held in Bulgaria on the 22nd of November and 13th of December 2006. The main topic of both supervisions was the Diagnosis and Treatment of Specific Cases of Child Abuse.
During the meeting cases of children in abusive situations were discussed and ways for solving concrete problems were explored in the group. One issue that was raised during the supervisions was the lack of meetings to discuss the cases with other professionals, especially these who work directly with abused children. Also a need for more trainings on this and similar topics was expressed, which reflects once again the above mentioned issue of lack of similar gatherings of professionals for exchange of information and capacity building.
