6th Conference “Helping children – victims of crime”

On 26th and 27th October 2009 in Warsaw annual conference devoted to the issue of assistance to abused children and protection of children participating in legal procedures was organised by the Nobody's Children Foundation, Social Policy Department of Warsaw City Hall and Ministry of Justice. Being the most important and the largest of this kind of events in Poland the conference gathered more then 550 professionals working in the area of psychology, law, social services and non-governmental organizations supporting children. This year guests from organisations cooperating in the frame of the "Childhood without Abuse" project also joined the conference, together with participants from Belarus and Armenia.

The aim of the conference was to present model solutions for preventing crimes against children and their consequences and well as to inform the public about recent theoretical and empirical findings pertaining to the problem of violence against children. A number of practical solutions and best practices implemented by different European organisations was introduced. Lectures ad workshops were run by more then 60 speakers from Poland and abroad. During the event the Charter of the Rights of the Child Victim/Witness for the first time.
