Study visit and coordinators meeting in Warsaw

After the conference "Helping children - victims of crime" held on 26 - 27 October participants from East European countries, including Belarus (INGO „Ponimanie"), Armenia („Arevamanuk" Family and Child Care Fund), Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldavia and Ukraine, had opportunity to become familiar in the work of the Nobody's Children Foundation.

Study visit in Sure Start programmes run in Swansea, UK

The visit was organized in correlation to the BASPCAN Congress held in Swansea on 13-16 September 2009. The representative of the Nobody's Children Foundation, Renata Szredzińska, was joined by Irina Zverieva from Child Well-Being Fund, Ukraine and Agnese Megne - Center Against Abuse "Dardedze", Latvia. Both the Ukrainian and Latvian organizations are partners of the Nobody's Children Foundation in the project "Childhood without abuse - towards a better child protection system in Eastern Europe".

Site visit in Swansea NSPCC Therapeutic Service

On 15th September representatives of the Childhood without Abuse project visited NSPCC Therapeutic Service Ty Findlay in Swansea, South Wales. Hospitable team of the center provided a wealth of information on their approach to child abuse therapy, procedures and methods used.

Functioning of the Therapeutic Service is based on the belief that children and young people who have experienced abuse are entitled to post-abuse recovery services and they can recover if they are given appropriate support.

Coordinators meeting and site visit in Swansea

On 16th September 2009 in Swansea, Great Britain, coordinators of the Childhood without Abuse project met again to discuss recent developments in the project and plans for next activities. The meeting was attended by Tanya Kovaceva representing OAK Foundation and prof. Kevin Browne, who introduced preliminary outcomes of evaluation of 5 years project cycle that will come to an end in December 2009.
