Trainings conducted in Moldova in 2006

There were three trainings conducted in Moldova in 2006:

15 practitioner psychologists who work in governmental or non-governmental community centres took part in the training "Diagnosis and Psychological Rehabilitation of the Abused Child" (10 persons - from Chisinau and 5 persons from the regions: Balti, Orhei, Causeni, Stefan-Voda and Singerei towns).

The training program lasted 24 hours (within 3 days - from 31st of July till 2nd of August).
The following objectives were achieved within the training:
• Accessible and structured teaching of theoretical aspects related to the diagnosis and psychological rehabilitation of the abused child;
• Showing work methods, techniques and tools specific to child abuse cases;
• Practicing work techniques with abused children (interview with the abused child, psycho-drama, symbol-drama, relaxation techniques and exercises aimed at regaining psycho-emotional balance);
• Teaching participants the educational game "On the way home" aimed at primary prevention of child abuse.
A questionnaire for assessing long-term impact of the training was developed and implemented following the training. Psychologists who participated in the training said that, three months after the training, they assisted 2-3 cases of abuse on average, trying to apply the diagnosis and rehabilitation algorithm they have learnt at the training. Particularly, they appreciate the fact that the psychological techniques they have learnt are useful in their work with all children at risk and that the educational game "On the way home" was showed itself very well at the level o primary prevention of human rights abuse.
