International supervision in Moldova

20 psychologists from Municipal Department for Child Protection and foster care centres participated in the international supervision conducted by Bengt SÖDERSTRÖM regarding "Therapeutic tools and focus areas in treatment of sexually abused children and adolescents".
Within the session were discussed principles and important aspects of a therapeutic treatment for traumatized children and adolescents, the effects of sexual abuse on children, basic mechanism of trauma and trauma recovery.  In addition, participants had the opportunity to analyze their own professional challenges and difficulties, the knowledge they have in this area. Basic information material within the discussion was "VASA Tool Box", a book developed by Bengt SÖDERSTRÖM, translated and adapted by NCCAP, representing a selection of useful tools used within the assistance of a child abuse case.
