CoE publication on international justice for children

Council of Europe has recently published "International justice for children", an analysis of child friendly national and international justice systems. The booklet examines monitoring mechanisms and current systems of admissibility, determining how easy children can gain access to them.

The authors argue that, although international human rights mechanisms have become more sensitive to children rights, seeking remedy through this path is still not well-developed. The publication also identifies obstacles that prevent children from accessing justice system institutions and proposes recommendation to governments and internationals organizations that can help improve the situation. This publication is an important direction in making it possible for children to fully exercise their rights safeguarded by conventions.
