Report on sexual violence in residential institutions in Poland

The report  “Sexual violence against children. Study of the phenomenon and dimensions of the violence against children raised in the residential institutions” has been prepared by the Nobody’s Children Foundation (Poland) in the frame of the Daphne programme. It is devoted to the problem of victimization of children living in residential care in Poland.


 


Multi-disciplinary training on intervention in cases of child abuse in Lithuania

On 29-30th of September 2010, Children Support Centre implemented multi-disciplinary trainingIntervention and provision of help in cases of child abuse“ for the teams of specialists from 6 districts of Lithuania. Teams consisted of children rights protection specialists, social workers, police officers, prosecutors. Team counselling started  in September. 

International Supervision in Bulgaria

International supervision was hold on 26 October 2010 in hotel Diva, Bulgaria. The supervisor was Orthodoxy Solomon- clinical psychologist and family therapist from Nancy, France. She is working in the framework of Transcultural therapy using Greek myths in work with dysfunctional and abusive families. During the supervision she went through the cases of incest and abusive families, which were presented by the participants.

The Council of Europe Campaign to stop sexual violence against children

The Council of Europe has launched a Europe-wide campaign to raise awareness about the growing sexual abuse and exploitation of minors in Europe.  The Council has worked with children, parents, teachers, social workers, and other experts to determine the type of information to be included in the campaign. The main goals of the campaign are to achieve further signature, ratification and implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Convention), to equip children, their families/carers and societies at large with knowledge and tools to prevent and report sexual violence against children, thereby raising awareness of its extent.
