Supervision by an international expert in Bulgaria

On the 11th of September 2006 there was a supervision by an international expert conducted in Bulgaria The supervision, carried out by Maria Keller-Hamela from Nobody's Children Foundation (Poland), was organized for representatives of government and non-government organizations working in the area of child protection - social workers, teacher, school principals and psychologists.

The supervision started with a presentation concerning the disclosures, patterns, delays and dynamics of child sexual abuse problem. Then particular cases were presented and the solutions in specific situations were discussed. The participants raised the issue of lack of collaboration between different agencies working in the field of child abuse. The lack of trust between the institutions was also an issue. One of the main conclusions of this supervision was that there is a need to work closer between agencies including law enforcements people not only on policy level but also on particular cases.
