See it, Hear it, Say it campaign in Bulgaria started in November with a variety of events held in 11 towns, Shumen, Pazardjik, Pleven, Novi Pazar, Razgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Trjavna, Stara Zagora, Gabrovo, Targovishte, organized by Social Activities and Practices Institute and its local partners. On this occasion the goals of the campaign and problem of physical abuse of children were presented to professionals, press and local communities.

On 3rd December 2008 See it, Hear it, Say it campaign was officially inaugurated in Sofia with a press conference featuring Social Activities and Practices Institute, State Agency for Child Protection, UNICEF Bulgaria, and Center Nadia Foundation, all taking part in implementing the campaign.

The initiative gained wide support from national and local organizations and institutions active in the field of violence prevention. It also triggered new efforts to improve child protection system in Bulgaria. A group of 50 professionals from governmental and non-governmental institutions met to discuss legal framework and actual functioning of the child protection system and to draft National Action Plan for prevention of violence against children.

The campaign materials have been originally created on pro bono basis by the advertising agency DDB Warsaw for the Nobody's Children Foundation and later adapted in Bulgarian by DDB Bulgaria.

In the frame of the campaign a radio spot has also been developed, with a following message:

Children don't know that it's wrong to be beaten. That's why they don't look for help. Parent know that it's wrong to beat their children. That's why they hide it.

You can find the spot in the attachment.
