Local trainings in Bulgaria in 2012

Four local trainings for 51 professionals were carried out in Bulgaria:
one in the city of Shoumen, two in the city of Pernik and one in Sofia, respectively on 25th and 26th of September, 27th and 28th of September, 5th and 6th of October and 21st and 22nd of October . The groups were different in terms of participants - while in Pernik the training was requested by local teachers and pedagogues from kindergartens, in Sofia and Shoumen the trainees were professionals with long-term practice in social work. The trainings based on the scenarios "Without a smack" developed by Nobody's Children Foundation were adapted to the group's needs and characteristics. Participants were prepared to conduct seminars and workshops with parents focussed on enhancing parenting skills and raise their awareness about negative consequences of corporal punishment. From the evaluation of the trainings it becomes clear that for the teachers 100% of the information and the presented approach was new. All the participants stated that they would include elements of the training into theirs work or the work of their organization
