University of Liverpool conference: Children and the European Union

International conference on the topic "Children and the European Union: Legal, Political and Research Perspectives" will take place on 20th - 22nd April 2009, at University of Liverpool, UK. The event is organized in partnership with EURONET.

The principal aim of the conference is to generate in-depth discussion of developments that have taken place at EU level in relation to children's rights and welfare. This multidisciplinary initiative will involve policy-makers at both national, EU and international level, practitioners, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and academics.
The conference will provide an opportunity to engage in critical debate on the values of EU regulation of children's rights and its possible contribution to children's rights campaign at national and international level.
