Local supervisions in Macedonia

The topic of the first one, organized on the 6^th of October for 15 psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists, was incest and treatment of sexually abused children within wider family. The issues discussed during the meeting were:

• The emergency of intervention and taking the child out of the family
• What to do after the placement of the child in special institution?
• Preparing foster families to cope with sexual abuse of children

During the second supervision, held on the 27th of December, teachers, school psychologists and educators were acquainted with the case of physically abused 12 year old boy with dissociation disorder symptoms and learning problems. The participants were discussing the issue of differentiation of dissociation disorder symptoms from learning problems and ways of coping with dissociation in the classroom.
