Subregional training in Latvia

On the 26th and 27th of October 2006 social workers and care givers from Latvia and Lithuania took part in the subregional training led by Erki Korp from Estonian organization “Tallinna Laste Turvakeskus”. The main theme of the training was “Child protection in institution” and among the covered issues were:

  • Child protection in institutions.
  • Different experience and the best practice in the child protection work.
  • Different possibilities and ways in this work.
  • Children at risk.
  • Addicted children.
  • Trafficking and commercial sexual child abuse.

This subregional training was an excellent experience of working together with professionals from other country, sharing experiences and comparing systems (strong and weak points) and methods of work with abused children and their families.
