Council of Europe launched project on protecting children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse in the Republic of Moldova

During the meeting, in his welcoming remarks, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mr Dorian Purice, reaffirmed his support to work alongside the Council of Europe and underlined that more targeted efforts are needed especially to prevent child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The meeting succeeded in bringing together all implementing partners across sectors and the project workplan of proposed activities for 2019 was agreed.
The project implementing partners are: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, General Prosecution Office, National Council for the Protection of Child's Rights, Ombudsperson for children's rights and National Institute of Justice.

La Strada and, Empowering Children Foundation's partner organization, CNPAC participated as civil society observers to the meeting.

The project implementation period is 15 months.
