Another Me: transformation from pain to power – online exhibition

A unique photographic project put in place by Terre des hommes allowed 126 trafficking survivors in the care of Sanlaap, non-governmental organization based in Kolkata, India, to go through a healing journey of psychological transformation.

Before the final set of portraits of 126 girls and women was created, the counselor assisted them to narrate their personal stories, stories of disappointed childhood, abuse and slavery in the brothels. The portraits record imaginary beings - symbolic representations of girls' and women's individual experiences and hopes.
