Training on resilience as a good practice in interdisciplinary work

On 13th November in Sofia, Bulgaria, child protection specialists from Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine were trained on the topic of resilience as interdisciplinary work approach. Childhood without Abuse Project coordinators also took part in the training. The event was carried out by Social Activities and Practices Institute with the financial support of the OAK Foundation and The Open Society Institute East - East Programme.

Bulgaria: Child witness in criminal proceedings – multidisciplinary approach

On 11th - 12th November 2008 international seminar "Child witness in criminal proceedings - multidisciplinary approach" took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event was organized by Social Activities and Practices Institute - Bulgarian Partner of the Childhood without Abuse Project, with cooperation of the Nobody's Children Foundation and the Bulgarian Judges Association.

In the past few months two trainings for professionals working with children have been conducted in Bulgaria, in the frame of the Childhood Without Abuse Project.

First training, conducted by Jolanta Zmarzlik and Maria Keller-Hamela, took place on 9th-11th April 2008, in Sofia, the second one, by Maria Keller-Hamela, was organised on 9th - 11th June 2008, in Shoumen.



School Free from Violence Project

"School Free from Violence" is a project implemented in Bulgaria by UNICEF, the State Agency for Child Protection, Sofia Municipality, Ministry of Education and Science, and other institutions. The project aims toward creating a safe and supporting school environment through direct interaction with children, teachers and parents in the school.
